First Week of Work and Selling Yourself.

Oh beauties, how have I missed you so. This last week and a half has been very eventful and very full of new experiences and just pretty much with my constantly on the move without getting much chance to setting down and get my thoughts together. But I can do that now.

As you guys know, I became certified in personal training over the summer of 2015. I was very eager and couldn’t wait to jump into the field of personal training, I got interview after interview, but never a job offer, or when it seemed like I got an offer, managers never followed up with me in terms of a start date. This was very bothersome at times because I felt as if I wasn’t good enough, or I wasn’t selling myself properly.

I held three jobs, with still having some weekends off, sometimes not getting home until 11pm to only have to wake up and get to another job for 8am and trust me, I didn’t work close to home. Being a New Yorker and a non-driver, MTA is what I rely on, so my commute usually last between an hour to an hour and 30 minutes.

In February, I had one last interview, I sold myself in a way I’ve never sold myself before, I started talking to the managers as if we we’re friends, started relaxing and stopped trying to tell them what I thought they wanted to hear and told them the God honest truth. If I didn’t know something, I stopped being afraid to say, “No, I haven’t heard of that.” And became more open to saying, “I haven’t hear of that, but please tell me more.” Always inviting myself to the conversation rather than waiting to be invited.

So today I can say that after months of trying, I am now a personal trainer, training clients on a daily basis. This is me putting my mind to my business, my career, covering all angles and finding ways to make this work for me. This is exactly where I wanted to be and I am going to make sure not to squander this opportunity.
Helping people change lives is what I am passionate about and I am stoked to be here and I’m elated for the chance to do what I love.

TKO 4-Way Resistance Bands

When you don't have time to workout at the gym, the next best thing is an at home workout. So I'm introducing you guys to the magic that is resistance bands. Of course we've all seen different variations of resistance bands, but these particular ones caught my attention.

These particular resistance bands are different and unique because they do allow you to get into a full range of motion with your arms and your legs and you can also adjust the resistance for a tighter feel. I gave it a try and it's not as easy as you might think, the added resistance maximizes your workout.

There are many of other exercises you can do with these resistance bands but these are just some of the ones I tried out with them. I'm definitely feeling to incorporate them in my workouts since I need that extra "push" throughout my workouts.

Until next time beauties.
