Weekly Confessions #6

Hola!

A lot of good things happened this week. I completed that water challenge and I feel GREAT. I cut out carbs for the week (rice, bread, pasta etc.) I didn’t eat any red meat and I am finally 189lbs! Can you say excited MAJOR!

Now on to why we’re here. I did have a little slip up on Friday and Saturday but nothing to cry over.

Friday’s Dinner: Two slices of pizza.
Saturday’s Lunch: Sticky wings.

And that’s it. Honestly when I saw 189lbs on the scale, my insides were doing multiple back flips and then jumping on a pogo stick. You guys know I’ve been struggling to move from that stubborn 192lbs. My goal for this week coming up is go basically eat the same way I did and add in some carbs along the way.

Also same for the water, the goal is to drink as much water as possible, but I would like to drink a cup of juice with dinner every other night.

I just can’t wait to start my week as a 189-pound woman!

PS: I officially registered for The Color Run on Friday 7/19. I am still keeping up with the trainings and I am currently on week 4.

How To Make: Invisible Cookie Dough Ice Pops

Quick and easy summer treat to make. I found this on Pinterest.

*Enough to make 10 popciciles.

2 1/2 c. almond milk.
2/3 c. Light brown sugar, packed.
Couple pinches of salt.
2 tsp. pure vanilla extract.
1/4 + 1 tsp. of mini chocolate chips.

Place milk in a microwave safe bowl and heat for one minute, or until warm to the touch. Stir in brown sugar and salt until dissolved. Stir in vanilla.

Place 1/2 tablespoon of chocolate chips in the bottom of your Popsicle mold. Fill to the top with milk mixture. Insert sticks and freeze until solid.

Here's what they are supposed to look like depending on what mold you decide to use.

And here's what mine looked like.

Mines came out so dark because I couldn't remember if the recipe called for light or dark sugar. It's clearly LIGHT! Lol

I wish I could get nutritional facts on these, but I couldn't find them anywhere. I'll keep looking.

Hope you guys decide to try this and share with me how yours came out.

One Week Water Challenge

9:25 AM KyannaSimone 0 Comments

This weekend I was browsing through Pinterest and I came across these post about water.

After reading, it got me thinking. I need to drink more water. I know I don't drink enough daily. So for one week, I'm going to challenge myself to drink nothing but water.
Some might find this particularly easy, maybe because they could be used to it. However for myself, I like to have some type of juice when eating meals. So I could already see the problem here.
So I just won't eat! No, I'm kidding lol.

Im just going to see where this week takes me and hope for the best!
Any suggestions and tips are welcomed.

Weekly Confessions #5

Man oh man, do I feel good this week. I stayed on track for most of the week and strayed off about two times throughout the whole week. I am actually really proud of myself and I am hoping to have one good week and after that having more good weeks to come.

Check this out:

Monday’s Dinner: Honey chicken wings and French fries (staff dinner)
Friday’s Breakfast: Green plantain
Friday’s Dessert: Tiramisu

So you guys know my motto “Sunday starts a new week” and I am looking forward to keeping this week 100% clean, however I am predicting two possible days that I could put me off track, but we will see as the week progresses.

Also, I have finished week one of the beginners 5K training and I must say it started out rough, but I found it easier as I repeated the runs. Although running on cement is something I need to focus on more since that’s a challenge for me.

So off to starting week two of the color run training, wish me luck!

PS: Still stuck at 192lbs. Losing these next two pounds are a challenge but I know it can be done.

4th of July.

I Hope everyone is having a good day!

This is one of those times that we tend to over indulge, if you can, make sure you don't over do it and stop before you eat that fourth hot dog or cheeseburger. And if you happen to take that leap, remember that tomorrow is a new day to start over and get back on track.

As for me, currently I'm not doing anything this holiday and I'm not entirely sure why. So I'm going to head off to the gym and continue my training for the color run. Which is September 7th in Brooklyn. (Not sure if I'm doing it, but I'm still training.)

Well, hope everyones 4th is better than mine. Tell me about it, I would love to hear what you guys did!

Color Run for Fun!

I've been hearing and seeing all the advertisement for the 5K Color Run "The Happiest 5K on the Planet" and I've been thinking. I think I would like to take part in it.

For those of you who don't know what the Color Run entails. Here's a brief description:

"Less about your 10-minute-mile and more about having the time of your life, The Color Run is a five-kilometer, un-timed race in which thousands of participants are doused from head to toe in different colors at each kilometer. The fun continues at the finish line with a gigantic “Color Festival,” using more colored powder to create happiness and lasting memories, not to mention millions of vivid color combinations. Trust us, this is the best post-5k party on the planet!

With only two rules, the idea is easy to follow:

Wear white at the starting line
Finish plastered in color" -the colorrun.com

My friend/gym partner mentioned that she would like to take part in the race and then a tiny light bulb turned on in my head, SO WOULD I!

Of course this now creates a whole array of training that I would have to do! As well as finding out when the actual race is!

However my friend found this "Color Run Beginner 5K plan" that I can start my training with. It mentions to follow this 3 - 5 times a week. So I'm starting today.

And to make this more eminent, while on the train this morning I saw eight people with Color Run gear on. Ranging from backpacks to cell phone cases, truly inspirational.
