Is it just nerves?

So it’s 81 degrees, I am currently sitting on my couch watching Dancing with the Stars, finishing a 33.8 fl oz bottle of smart water and debating if I should go for a 20 minute run.

Here’s my issue, I don’t like to be unnecessarily hot, I mean dripping sweat all in-between my legs, arms and unmentionables… yea I don’t like that feeling. Also I’ve never ran outside before and I think that today is a good day to do that or at least test myself to see how long I can run for. Also I have new running buddies, Beats solo hd heasphones and Asics GT 2000 sneakers.

I honestly want to give these sneakers a try outside. I haven't done so since I purchases them last week. But anywho...

A treadmill is different; I can always stop for about 30 seconds and get back on. I think outside I would take pride myself to see if I can run for 20 minutes without taking breaks. Gosh, I just am nervous about this whole running thing; maybe that’s what it is. Nerves, I am just that nervous to run and I don’t want to.

Maybe I’ll just do a Jillian Michaels workout and call it a day and run tomorrow. Ah, I’m going to figure this out.

In better news:
I have lost 3lbs since last check in, so I am now 193lbs and in total lost17lbs. I still actually can’t believe I am saying I lost 17lbs, it doesn’t feel like it, I can see the difference in my body, but 17lbs OMG.

Detox Time?

When I hear the word "detox" I think about cleaning my body, removing the impurities that reside inside and start fresh.

I was in Trader Joe's and some women were discussing this Baking Soda and Epsom Salt detox. The women explained the detox was just as good as taking a laxative. So, of course I researched to find out what I was getting myself into.

Let me explain how this is supposed to work..

•Fill your bathtub with hot water(as hot as you can take it.)
•Pour 1 up of baking soda in.
•Pour 2 cups of Epsom salt in.
•Sit in the water for about 20 minutes.
• And DONE!

Here's the trick..
1) You cannot eat an hour before you start the detox and you MUST drink A LOT of water.
2) You cannot eat after you have completed the detox and you MUST drink A LOT of water.
3) When you get out of the bathtub, your pores will be open, so no harsh lotions or sprays to your body. Stick to 100% oils until the hour is over.
4) This has said to make people lose 4 pounds.

Now, let me break this down. I did try it and I weighed myself before and after. I lost TWO pounds. So what was the two pounds? Water weight.
While sitting in the shower, I got so hungry so fast and I felt I was going to explode. My insides were turning and I felt as if I put myself into starvation mode. Oh and after I got out,  I think 30 minutes into it I had to eat something because I was so hungry!

Would I do this again? NO! Not for TWO pounds! I gave it a try and that's it for me. Maybe I'll just take a laxative....

It’s never too late to get started on your journey, so why not start today? Gosh I sound like an informational.  Any who, I’ve decided to do the plank, crunch and squat challenge for the month of May. Since some of the challenge are made for April, what I did was added an extra day to accommodate for the 31st day of the month.

*Add 155 crunches for day 31.

*Add 5 minutes for day 31.

*Add 260 squats for day 31.

Hopefully this helps. If anyone has any other challenge or variations to this challenge, please feel free to tell me :)

You're in ONEderland, Now What?

For you guys who watch “The Biggest Loser” I’m pretty sure you’ve heard the expression “Welcome to ONEderland.” For those who haven’t, let me explain…

ONEderland is a term used for a person who has lost weight and has fallen below 200lbs. So ONE hundred and ninety-nine (199) pounds and under is a person who is in ONEderland.

I have been in ONEderland for about two months now, and I am currently 196lbs since April 13th. I’ve been so excited that I’ve made it into ONEderland that I didn’t realize that I haven’t lost any weight in 21 days.

I mean, it doesn’t help that I’ve been eating Pinkberry almost twice a week for three weeks or really haven’t worked out for about a week, or have been drinking almost every week.

Yes, I’ve been slacking. BUT, I am going to get myself back into the swing of things. If I’m not working out at work, I’m going to the gym, if I can’t make it to the gym, I’m going to work out at home. But the trick is to keep moving and that’s what I have to remember. Being lazy is not an option for me.

*Quick tip: Jumping rope during the commercials of a one hour show can burn up to 300 calories (according to my fitness pal.)
