I always hated to talk about myself, but over the years I’ve learned to love it. So HI! My name is Kyanna Simone and I am just going to jump right into this.

Growing up and I felt “comfortable” with my weight and never felt the need to lose any weight at all. High school or college were years I gained an excessive amount of weight and at my heaviest I was 215lbs. Of course I always felt I never looked 215lbs because I knew how to dress for my body type and I hid my weight well. However when I walked into stores, the first thing I saw was the “Skinny girl section” and when I make my way to the back of the store with the dim lighting and the black and white sign hanging above head saying “plus size” it was kind of a wake-up call for me. I thought, “How much longer am I going to allow myself to walk into a store and shop solely in this section.”

Don’t get me wrong now, there is nothing wrong with plus sized clothing and I still wear plus size clothes now, but in that moment, in that particular store, I just saw myself just getting bigger and bigger and not doing anything about my weight. Yes I would always look cute, but should my health be jeopardized?
Needless to say I’ve decided to start a fitness journey, or a “Lifestyle choice” journey in January, about four days after my 23rd birthday. When I started this journey I was 210lbs. At first I was confused and a bit scared; I didn’t know what I was getting myself into, besides I loved my body, being developed at such a young age and I didn’t want to lose that. But then again I thought “my body” or my “health?”

So I got started…

At work, I do have a small fitness room where I can work out so it makes it easier for me to get a workout in while I’m at work, while at work we have a personal trainer who trains the staff and I also have a gym membership and usually attend the gym on Saturdays and Sundays.
My journey has been great so far, of course with ups and downs and I will be sure to tell you guys what I currently weigh on my next post.
